Porush, Menachem
(1916- )
   An ordained rabbi, he was born in Jerusalem and educated at religious schools. He served as a correspondent for foreign newspapers from 1932 to 1938 and as an editor for Kol Israel from 1936 to 1949. He was first elected to the Knesset as a member of Agudat Israel in 1959. He served as vice mayor of Jerusalem from 1969 to 1974 and deputy minister of labor and social affairs in the Government of National Unity established in 1984. He was reelected to the Knesset in 1988 and 1992.
